I am your average, above average student in high school :), as i'm in my senior year and looking towards colleges and majors I'm beginning to have questions. Such as, how hard is computer science and software engineering?

I have always enjoyed computers and learning about how they work, I'm pretty driven by it. However, I heard electrical engineering is one of the hardest and me being no genius I dont want to start something I cant finish. So I assume dealing with hardware related topics is out of the picture? But how hard is software engineering in college, and can I get a degree in software engineering through computer science?

I work very hard in school, I enjoy studying I just want to know what I am getting into.

It started to become a passion for me when I built my first computer, I love putting the hardware together and learning how the parts work together to help the computer run. But I feel that software engineering has a bigger growth rate in the future, which I mean Im still working with computers, so i feel that I will stay active and not get bored with it.

I am a high school senior as well, computer science has nothing to do with computer hardware. I would say go for a electrical/computer engineering degree if you want to work with hardware.
