Computer Science Tips/advice for freshmen

I am going to be a freshman this fall, and I plan to major in computer science. Unfortunately… I do not have much experience in programming, as I’m taking an intro to C++ class right now.

What should I do this summer to prepare myself? Are the comp sci courses/professors extremely demanding?

Thank you for your time and have a great day!

I’m not a student but I’ll try to help you out since no one has answered you yet. Then everyone can jump in and correct me

A few of my sons friends are CS majors at Rutgers. They seem to have a pretty good program.

All of these students had some experience in CS classes during high school, so you may want to take a programming class during the summer to get a head start. Having already had some classes, they do not think that the curriculum is overwhelming, but there will be some nights you stay up late getting something finished.
