[Computer Science] UC Davis vs UC Irvine?

<p>Deadline to SIR is Wednesday so I have to decide quick!!! Please help. I have listed the pros and cons of each school and they seem to balance each other out, these two schools are really similar.</p>

<p>Davis Pros:

  • Ranked higher than UCI
  • Better people, more diverse
  • Better school spirit</p>

<p>Cons:

  • Underfunded engineering department
  • Buildings are old</p>

<p>Irvine Pros:

  • Amazing campus
  • Dedicated school for Comp Sci
  • Well funded
  • More research/internship opportunities?</p>

<p>Cons:

  • Ranked lower</p>

<p>Their stats are quite similar, are there more things I left out? Please help. Thanks.</p>

<p>I decided on Davis over Irvine for next fall for CS. The rankings are 10# apart but that was not enough to sway me. My friend goes to UCI and it is a commuter school. Plus you need a car to get around and those two factors sold it for me. Rankings personally won’t matter in this case but it depends on how much you want to emphasize it.</p>

<p>Both are great schools for computer science. Go to the one that you feel more at ‘home’. You’ll be living there for at least four years!</p>
