Computer science vs computer engineering.

I'm choosing computer science (or electrical engineering with compsci if thats that my school has). They make a few thousand $$ on average less than engineers. Everyone is saying "go where the money is". It's not like I won't make anything with a compsci degree... I'll be good. People say why don't I be an engineer, there's no difference. That grinds my gear for lack of a better metaphor.

In a nutshell IMO, computer engineers make the machine, and computer scientists program it. I can sit at a computer screen for hours programming, but I don't like using my hands to make things. I know there's an overlay in duties between the two, but I like the main focus of porgramming.

What's your opinion?? Why did you choose computer engineering, computer science, or both?

A lot of computer engineers just sit behind a computer using CAD tools and Verilog/VHDL to program FPGAs and such anyway haha…

Computer scientists aren’t just programmers, either.

i know that^^ but looking at colleges & their main focus for the two, there’s a fundamental difference
