Okay, this might be a little dumb question but I need to know what is the exact difference between these two programs and what advantages or disadvantages I might be at if I choose one over the other. Any insight would be appreciated, but if I were to ask you in terms of graduate studies or career wise, which one would be a better option or so.

Computer science is the formal study of computing (from a software point of view). Most computer science majors seem to go into software engineering, although that’s not what they are trained for.

Computer engineers are trained in software and hardware stuff, and most often work at the intersection of the two. For example, a computer engineer might write firmware for an embedded micro-controller.

Electrical engineers are mostly on the hardware side of things.

well if I were to ask, which one would be a better program choice, which one would that be? Its like most of my US dreams are going down the drain so as a matter of a safety I’m thinking to apply to Mcmaster University in Canada and I have specify which program I’d like to be enrolled in, so I’m kind of confused inbetween both.

I am pretty much interested in computer science but my father keep pursing me to join computer engineering, please give me some points by which I can convince my father that computer science is worth it.
