Computer Science vs Computer Enginneering??

Hello everyone I think I just got accepted into pitt for computer science in the dietrich school of arts and sciences, but I
originally applied for the swanson school of engineering computer engineering. What I am wondering is the computer science a bad program compared to the computer engineering program? Or are they just different programs? Thank you ahead of time for all input!

My very limited understanding is that computer science deals more with the software side of things and computer engineering with the hardware. But they are in different schools at Pitt. Although if you take the same first year courses as the first year engineering curriculum, you might be able to transfer from Dietrich to Swanson.

You can take a look at the curriculum and more information on each program online.

Computer Engineering, Swanson School of Engineering: http://www.engineering.pitt.edu/Computer/

It is possible to transfer from the Dietrich School to the Swanson School once you are here. There are some very rigid requirements to do so, though. Please make sure that you educate yourself about this option before you make any decisions: http://www.engineering.pitt.edu/First-Year/First-Year/Transfer-Students/Internal-Transfer-Students/

Hope this helps clarify a little further!
