<p>i don't know for sure, but if i had to guess, i would say information science sounds more like something along the lines of technical support...that is, you could get jobs troubleshooting networks, setting up computers, etc, anything on the maintenance/post-production side...whereas computer science seems more like the production side of technological products (i.e. programming languages, data structures, transmission paradigms etc.).</p>

<p>computer science = pure software.. programs, and basic knowledge of how the computer works</p>
<p>computer information science goes into more of how a computer works, you can probably become an IT professional with CIS</p>
<p>at least these are what i think the meanings are</p>
