computer science with a foreign language

I want to major in linguistics or major in an actual foreign language. I am currently studying Japanese and want to study Korean later. Anyway I keep getting advice to major in both linguistics and computer science, however I don't exactly see how they go together.. I mean all the sites say are that linguistics helps with analyzing so I guess that’s how they relate. I don’t know, but I really want to do something involving the languages I acquire..
Any suggestions on what to do or an explanation of how they go together involving the languages?

Computational linguistics is a growing field (natural language processing and stuff), but outside of that research area, those two don’t go together any better than CompSci and any other major, IMO. You can use your language skills by working in another country, or working on language processing, translation, or teaching software, to name some stuff off the top of my head.

(btw, I am also a CompSci student who is taking Linguistics and Korean, but I’m not double-majoring or anything… not even minoring)
