<p>It seems there are a lot of CS threads lately, but everyone's situation is different so I'm making my own. Ok, so I am planning to go major in CS at OSU, however I am having doubts if this will lead to the right career. I do not want a job coding really, I can code well however it is not my forte. I understand that college will have a lot of coding, but i can push through it. I know CS is typically viewed as just a coding degree by the masses, but if you take a look online at the best information technology degrees, you will find jobs such as a Network manager, pentester, IT manager, etc. These all have little to no coding, and one of these is my pick for a job. The reason I am having doubts is because the curriculum included in degrees such as Information Technology or Information Systems seems to relate more to the day to day tasks of the above careers. Do hiring managers choose people with CS degrees over IT or IS degrees simply because it is harder?(more math) I am also interested in the business side of IT. My parents are both self employed and have a real estate business, and ive always been interested in the business/management stuff since i was a kid. So..what I am asking is, if my prospective job is, say, an IT manager at a company, do you all recommend that i stick with my original plan of getting a CS degree? or maybe a CS degree with a MBA, or CS with a business minor? or even go as far as switching my degree to Information Technology or Management Information Systems? The reason I want a CS degree is because the average salary is much higher than that of a IT or MIS degree holder. Help!! Thank you!!</p>
<p>Bump, I’m interested too.</p>
