I am junior and very interested in Penn for Computer Science. I have the GPA (4.6 weighted) and scores (33 ACT) to put me in the range of acceptability. Any Penn Computer Science majors or alumni out there who can give me advice on increasing my changes?

Not an alum, but son is applying this year. I called admissions last year regarding his senior schedule, and they stated pretty strongly that they wanted a math (not AP stats) and strong science senior year for admissions into SEAS. He added AP Bio and discrete math at a CC to his schedule as a result.

Daddio3. Thanks. That makes sense to call the schools and ask those questions. I will do that.

What’s your computer science background? I was admitted into M&T with my only engineering knowledge being that I took AP Computer Science A. More experience can only help you, but I know that we also admit a ton of kids into CIS that have never programmed in their lives.

I think it would be better to take AP physics than Bio since physics is a more mathematical science which is better for engineers than taking bio.

Late reply, but DS already took AP Physics B (4) and AP Chem (5). they still wanted a senior science even though he took 2 sciences junior year.
