Computer Science

Oh, the burgeoning field that is CS!

Some of you familiar with the topic of CS in this forum will note a previous thread that had a student denounce the program. I was accepted to engineering and applied science for CS and love WashU. Although WashU is kind of thought of as a "great humanities" school. Although, programs are strong across the board so sometimes this is unfair. I'm trying to decide between Purdue and WashU. Since there are no undergrad rankings, I saw that WashU's average salary is 8K higher.

Thoughts?

Any number of things could account for that 8K difference in initial salary. Take it with the same grain of salt with which you consider USNWR rankings. I think you have reason to confirm for yourself that some of the problems that student mentioned have been addressed already with increased institutional resources by WashU. Second thing I would consider is the difference in cost to you. You haven’t told us.
