Computer Science

How does Cornell's Computer Science program "rank"? Does anyone on these boards have personal experience with it? This is what I'm planning on going into, granted Cornell ends up being affordable and I don't get into CMU's SCS (which I'm currently waitlisted for). Thanks!

Bill Gates made a massive donation to the CS department here a few years ago. From what I hear, it's an excellent program and one of the best (top 10 at least) in the nation. After Googling I came up with this:
<a href="http://members.rediff.com/duewest/ranks.htm%5B/url%5D">http://members.rediff.com/duewest/ranks.htm</a></p>

Not familiar with the site, but that seems right.

My roommate for next year in CS in Engineering. Cornell CS is currently fourth in the world for CS, right behind Carnegie Mellon, MIT, CalTech.

I'm a sophomore in CS. The program seems to be pretty good, but then again I don't have experience with other schools' CS departments. If you have any specific questions you can ask me.

I, too, want to major in Computer Science. It's fourth..thats excellent!

Cornell Computer science is excellent!

Hi,

I am majoring in computer science and I have a few schools to choose from. What specific aspects of Cornell's computer science program make it appealing?

What schools are you deciding between?

I'm deciding between Cornell and Dartmouth.
