Can anyone tell me about the CS program at Clemson? Like how successful are grads at getting good jobs and how good the program is.

S is seriously thinking about the CS program. The faculty seems well qualified, the B.S. and B.A. curriculae seem pretty "standard." Hey, is anybody out there from Clemson? Learning more from either someone on the inside or from someone who has been there and done that would mean a lot!

looks like a normal CS program. Doesn't really look like anything stands out. I guess that's good? Salary probably depends on how talented you are in the field , but I saw something somewhere that CS majors made a fair deal less than the engineering students from clemson. Its probably because clemson isn't really know for CS whereas its more known for engr.

I know of a grad from a few years ago who got a full ride to duke's phd in CS from clemson's undergrad program (and turned down MIT). A current senior is looking at PhDs at Carnegie Mellon, Cornell and Minnesota right now.

The Clemson career center does salary survey's of grads each year -- http://career.clemson.edu/students/salary_survey.htm -- this is incomplete unfortunately -- grads fill out survey after being lined up for grad ceremony, and not everyone walks in graduation -- plus this only has data from those with job offers by graduation, not those who also go on for further study -- but the CS range from last year is 34k-59k

I don't think there are many software companies in the South where most grads probably go. I'm willing to go anywhere in the country as long as it's below a certain line of latitude.

I finally found a list of undergrad courses and the program looks interesting. Compared to Madison (which I am also considering) the Clemson program looks well rounded.
