Are those schools even accredited and do they have a legit accreditation?
TUI is. =)

ish718, Troy University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The school was formerly called Troy State University, and was founded in 1887. Troy University competes in NCAA Division I-A in the Sun Belt conference. The Trojans beat Oklahoma State during the 2007 college football season.
Baker College holds regional accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). Baker was first founded in 1911 as Muskegon College.
University of Illinois at Springfield, part of the University of Illinois system, was previously known as Sangamon State University, which was founded in 1969. The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) also accredits UIS.
California State University Chico, also founded in 1887, holds regional accreditation from the Senior College Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). If I’m not mistaken, the computer science bachelor’s degree program at CSU Chico is also accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
So to answer your question, yes.
I’m also looking to go into the CS field and I was thinking that it would help
if I got a degree. So, I searched online and found this program [American</a> Sentinel University](<a href=“http://www.americansentinel.edu/webdegree/cs/]American”>http://www.americansentinel.edu/webdegree/cs/)
It sounds like a pretty cool program. It is cheap compared to other online
universities, which is extremely helpful! It seems like it would fit in
with my schedule because it is so flexible. They have a ton of CS degrees
and they even offer a CS specialization in game programming, which I
thought was pretty cool! It is also accredited.
Any ideas?
One thing that I’ve seen in online universities and in evening programs is more of a focus on current skills and less on theory. That makes sense as many adults are taking courses in programs to provide an improvement in their current job potential. Learning the theory, however, may be more useful in the long run.
Yes, American Sentinel University is accredited, but it has a less prestigious form of accreditation compared to the rest of the schools posted. You may find it is more difficult to obtain admission to graduate programs based on a degree from them.
