computer v. electrical engineering

I would like to know what exactly I can do career-wise w/ a either of these majors. Right now I am declared as a computer engineering major but I don't really know the major. I was kind of forced by my adviser because of my AP credit and was not allow to stick with just engineering as a major. Now I am wondering if I should stick with it or maybe go to the next closest thing - electrical. What do you guys think?

Probably best to hear about what you do want to do... What sorts of things do you want to end up doing?

I had a similar problem. I choose EE over CompE though because i heard EEs can get CompE jobs. However CompEs can't always get EE jobs because of confusion in the market. I was also more interested in the hardware aspect of computers over software and didn't want to take programming courses.

I agree with Perfection. EE is generally seen by recruiters as a superset of CompE.

What would be even better is an 'EECS' degree, because that is arguably the most flexible of all. But not every school offers that.
