Hey....there's this thing on my computer "Smart Finder" (which includes Home Search Assistant, Shopping Wizard, and Search Extender). They are adware but my numerous programs could not remove them...And control panel "remove programs" doesn't work because every time i click the "remove" button, it takes me to this website which belongs to SmartFinder...and on that website, they need me to download sth (which is probably further malware); Anyone have insight to this? Help much appreciated!

Delete it via safe mode. Delete registry keys and all as well.

Run:
Adaware
Spybot
AVG Pro (30day trial)
Hijack This
And open Msconfig and see what's running in the background.

safe mode-tried it
currently using - X-cleaner, Spybot, SpySweeper, Adaware...each finds different stuff and when i check control panel - the things are still there....-__-"

Go to start, then click run. Type in MSCONFIG, then click enter. Go to the last tab and look at the programs that load at boot, and see if you find anything unusual. If you don't, run hijack this, and copy and paste the log file to this site, so I can take a look at it for you. BTW, don't use X-Cleaner.
