Computers for School

I know a lot of you are thinking about getting a new computer to bring to school (I bought a laptop before my freshman year). If you are at all thinking about a dell, they have a deal with Stanford to give an extra (up to) 12% off the lowest price you can find anywhere else. The site is at: http://www.dell.com/stanford. This past year I pounded nails into my wall and hung up a 19'' dell LCD monitor. Instant flatscreen TV. Not necessarily the smartest move, but it was pretty sweet for a few quarters.

I'm currently class of 2007 in China right now doing research on the Chinese education system- all paid from a grant I got from Stanford. I highly encourage everyone to take advantage of it once they get on campus :)

Thx I'm currently thinking of buying a Dell actually :)

I would advise you all to get laptops because I have found it extremely useful for taking notes in class, going to the coffee shop (CoHo) to do work, or do homework in a friend's room.

Also you can get discounts at HP for being a student (I'm actually now planning on getting the HP Pavilion dv2000t). You just have to register and stuff. Google it.

^yeah, their academic purchase program (APP) is pretty sweet.
