computers Red Barn

I had a question about anyone's prior experience purchasing a computer from Red Barn store in Ithaca. Did it work out will and is it efficient? Or is it better to get a computer from somewhere else. Please let me know if you know anything about Red Barn!

DO NOT buy a computer from the cornell store. they are actually more expensive than retail. if you are going to buy something like a dell, gateway, or a mac, you are better off going to their commercial online stores and using an educational discount to purchase a customized machine.

I posted a similar question and never really got an accurate response. As you have probably noticed, you can buy Red Barn computers throught the Cornell store or buy "Cornell" computers from the Red Barn site. The testimonials on their web page sound great. Their computers are well priced and good computers. I was surprised I didn't hear any more from anyone on their experiences with Red Barn as they are a pretty active player out there. My son will probably buy from them when he attends this fall. Let me know what you hear.

Actually, Red Barn listed the mac I want as even cheaper than getting it through Apple WITH the education discount...

Case in point:

Through Cornell:
http://tcop.cbs.cornell.edu/cgi-bin/webc.exe/st_prod.html?p_prodid=25&p_catid=

Through Apple w/education discount:
http://store.apple.com/AppleStore/WebObjects/HEDCustom.woa/6304006/wo/7n5qCz2jAUW528Rk1eFLTyCn4RV/0.PSLID?mco=E044BFB4&nclm=MacBook

Savings: $53 (without calculating tax)

I thought that Red Barn was an actual brand of computers and not the actual store where Cornell sells computers...the place at Cornell is called the Technology Connection
