I know that this is a strange question, but I should start thinking about it. I am starting to collect the things I will need for college, and I have a question about computers: laptop or desktop? It seem like a desktop would be better for this college, since students don't need to move their computers. They mainly walk around with a book and a pen, right? ...I don't know. I would love some input. Thanks a lot!

By the way, I will be attending the Santa Fe campus, if that makes any difference.

Although I'm not attending SJC, I bought a laptop for college because it is alot smaller than a desktop. There's little reason to purchase a desktop unless you're programming constantly or a graphic designer and need a computer with mad capabilities.... laptops are SO much more space efficient, and you can carry them around if you ever find the urge to. There are really good laptops out there for decent prices, so don't think that laptops'll only let you play solitaire. Plus, moving into the dorm will be a pain on its own, so if you can relieve yourself somehow, choose that option! I got a Dell XPS for $3,000 back in 2000. An XPS is much smaller now, and probably much cheaper. Check out what you can find!
