How hard is this class? I've done some VB where we made arrays, saved files, developed notepad style things. Also, how hard is Matlab? I looked at the median grades for fall of 2005, but they only listed Comp S100, not M or J seperately, and the average grade was a B+.

Same as my other post.

They don't assume you know anything. The thing about that course is that some kids struggle like it's the hardest **** they've every done in their lives, and some kids never go to class, never open the book, and pull the easiest A of their college career.

i think i will do some JAVA over winter break and then take this class in the Spring

The hardest thing about the class is figuring out exactly what the professor wants your program to do. The actual coding isn't bad at all.

I think you're over-reacting about the difficulty of the class. I had never done any programming, and had never even heard of matlab before taking the course and managed to do very well without being overwhelmed.

Just start your assignments early so you have time to debug and review, and you'll be fine. Exams weren't that bad either.
