what are some of your techniques of concentrating on doing your work and following the schedule you make for yourself?

Ummm.... I don't follow a specific schedule, I just try to knock out the easy homework during school (lunch, breaks) and on the bus or car ride home.

Then, focus on harder subjects when I have peace in my room.
If you want to concentrate, close your door, turn off TV, computer, etc.

Ummm... I really only do homework on the weekends and I just tell myself that it has to get done on Saturday. So, I put a good movie on(one I've seen so many times- today was "Blue Crush" which really isn't that good but still a chick flick) tell the parents to leave, turn the phone ringer off(my friends know what I do on Sats and will constantly call to bug me), and work. If I have to do homework during the week(my teachers are pretty good about letting us know when we have work due so it is easy to do none during the week) I leave the TV off and sit at a table... couches just aren't productive for busy work.

... it's Saturday so I'd better get back to work.

If I NEED to get work done, I go to the library. Productivity increases by at least 200% while being there.

I agree with the productivity at the library... but I always seem to forget something or meet someone there and end up chatting.

Yes - plus - library isn't the most convenient place.

I'd hihgl recommend earplugs. But they can hurt. Which reminds me to use earplugs - I've abandoned them for a while after finding that I couldn't concentrate well after using earplugs. But because I was daydreaming too much (I daydream FAR TOO MUCH!). Try... Music. Of course, music that doesn't distract. I just play tunes from my favorite computer games.

Library all the way. I couldn't work anywhere else.
