Can someone please explain the concept of a mid year report?? Do colleges look at it before they admit you or after? I'm very confused about this. It's my senior year and I got an 85 (weighted class though) but I'm just worried they might think too much about my mid year report, like how much focus do they put on it?

If you apply early decision/action, they’ll have to make a decision on your application before they receive it.

If you apply regular decision, they’ll review the midyear report with the rest of your file. The midyear report will confirm that you have persisted in the classes you told them you were taking when you completed the Common Application, and will tell them how your first-semester grades were.

Since your senior-year classes are presumably closer to the difficulty of college classes than anything else you’ve taken in high school, they have good reason to look at your seventh-semester grades pretty closely.
