Hello everyone. I do not know where to ask this, or where I can get information regarding it but I figured I'd just find a random forum and ask there. Anyway, recently, I attended college out-of-state in Ohio, but due to personal reasons, my grades were poor and I was basically not allowed back into the college next year due to my grades. Regardless, I am wanting to change all that and return back to college where I am going to try my best and do well so that I can get a degree in whatever it is I am still planning to do. So as a result, I put in an app to IUB. I figured since it was closer to home and I had friends who went there, the environment would be better for me and I'd have a much easier time with my studies.

Now since that is out of the way, what I am concerned about is my app to IUB. On my app to IUB, I did not mention that I had any previous college admission/experience. I apped as a freshman, and figured, I would just start brand new and fix what I had "broken." IUB has asked for my high school transcripts so to me, it looks like I do have a chance to get in but according to some of my family members, because I did not tell the truth on my app, that ultimately I would not be accepted into IUB. I have had friends who have apped to various colleges without mentioning that they had previous college experience and they were accepted without a problem. However, my family says that some people that were accepted and about to graduate 4 years later, were caught lying on their app and because of it, were not allowed to graduate. I do have some family issues and believe that my family may be forcing me to go to a certain college or stay away from others, but they are family, so I can't disregard what they are saying, seeing how it deals with my future and all.

So basically, what I would like to know is by telling IUB that I am apping as a freshman and never attended college previously, will this at all effect my chances of getting in (even though they are asking for my high school transcripts) or hurt me in the long run? I am just confused, and am not sure where to go or what to do or who to ask. I want to go to IUB for this upcoming fall/winter semester but am scared that this conflict might hurt me down the road. So if there is anyone out there who can help me out, or guide me in the right direction, please respond. I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Edit - I don't know if this matters but I did do extremely well in high school. Just thought I'd add that in there if it makes a difference.
