This is a very important question. I'm getting looked at by D1 schools (and some D3 schools) for soccer but I'm very worried about my GPA!

For Ivy League schools, would having a 3.5 unweighted GPA be detrimental to my recruitment for soccer? I'm going to be a senior next year and I'm doing all that I can to get straight A's as a senior.

My SAT scores are 2200 but I think if I retake them in the fall I might be able to raise that score to 2300 so I'm pretty satisfied about that.

For the ivies, you need 700s on each section
and excellent rigor
and high GPA.
Not knowing anything about your highschool and what the school profile says about where you fit in your class etc, its hard to say how that GPA fits. Also, you need to have a heavy courseload…tops in the classes, not regular if honors if offered. Not honors if AP is offered.

If you are corresponding with coaches–you know that NOW is the time to have that transcript, and copies of the test scores to send to coaches with your athletic stats.
July 1 is approaching.

thanks for the reply. From what I know, my SAT scores are pretty competitive for a recruited athlete. But, I just want to know how much a 3.5 unweighted GPA would affect me. Would my SAT scores balance it out or would my GPA kill everything? Also, I have taken the hardest courses offered at my school and my extracurriculars are pretty solid too.

I’m a solid soccer player but I’m definitely not the best. Coaches are showing interest by sending letters to me earlier this year and I’ve been attending camps and playing in showcases. Nonetheless, coaches are showing interest, which I think is pretty important.

Ivy league recruiting works on the basis of something calle d the academic index, which assigns an overall number for your GPA, sats, and sat IIs and athletes need to’ be’ in certain bande of scores depending on the school and sport. You might want to’ take a look at the various academic index threads.
