To start this off.. I'd like to say I'm nowhere in the same boat with most students that post on here. I'm currently a senior in highschool and have a few questions. I've been looking through colleges and I'm interested in Ohio State and I'm an Ohio resident. Does anyone know if I would get any scholarships or am I just going to get accepted?

GPA: 3.75(w)

APUSH I got a 4, AP Gov I got a 5.

EC: Senior class president, varsity tennis, science club, academic challenge, cyber club, student council, homecoming king if that matters lol.
And I have around 100 hours of community service.
My dad makes 35k a year while my mom is unemployed.

Also look on the web site for merit awards and scholarship and see how you fare with the requirements.

Be aware that the NPC is an average. Also run the EFC numbers to see if you are PELL eligible. Make sure that when you actually fill out FAFSA that you and your parents; accounts are not inflated due to some check sitting in there that is earmarked. Pay day is not a good day to file. If you have any money in any accounts, you might want to reimburse your parents for some of your expenses and they can open an account in their own names to pay for some of your college. Student assets get hit at 20% with no allowance. Goes right to the EFC whereas your parents will get an allowance and at their income levels if they can file a short form for taxes, none of their assets will count.

Also make sure you pick a few commuter options so that you have something affordable that is sure to accept you. You can apply to whatever you want with impunity once you have that base covered.
