after reading the "deferred, now what" entry i'm getting very nervous.

What do you think are my chances?
SAT: 1320 (610 V, 710 M), english second language
GPA: 3.6 uw, 4.1 w
AP's: 5 AP's, tons of honors
EC's: 400+ community service
Several schools clubs (president of 1)
Teacher at sunday school at church for several years
I think my essays are pretty decent, I spent a good amount of time in it and feel that they really showcase my writing style.

I think you have a good chance. Your GPA is higher than the other person had. When did you apply? Did you specify a major or a specific interest? Maybe the other person stated pre-med and UMich said no because of that. There's no telling.

I'm the other person, and I did state pre-med. I was told that choosing the major would not affect my chances. Only which college you apply to (i.e. Engineering vs. LSA). I would've applied undecided if I had known that was true.

BHR, it is difficult to say. If you are in-state, you have a decent chance. If you are out of state, your chances are not as good but still reasonable. The fact that English is your second language will help. I would say your chances of getting in are better than your chances of being rejected...but I really don't know. I hope this helps.
