i zoned out near the end and didn't touch the last math section, so my math score is going to be very low, i'd think in the whereabouts of 500 or so. My CR and writing were fine though.
I took the old SAT in jan and got a decent math score; all I really needed from this test was writing, and i got it. Should i still cancel this test? Can I rely on my old SAT scores as a backup if i'm applying to harvard EA, since i hear that they only take into account your highest scores, or will the second math score still count against me?
In that case, if i preselected colleges to receive my score report, will the old scores be provided to them too or will I have to send old scores independently of the new one?
Same applies to national merit; will the low score cause me not to be a finalist, or will proof from an earlier test suffice?

bump....??

bump again......please? i need to know so that i can cancel by tonight if necessary :(

bump again..... and so it goes.

here is my opinion: since you screwed up your math, you must spend all your time on CR and writing and just leave the math untouched. So it is not gonna be fair to others who spend equal time on both sections. So what will the college think if they see your score? This is just my personal opinion and has no proof and no research. So you can just ignore it

Seraph: everyone spends equal time on each section (unless you cheated, or are signed up for extended time due to verbal or numerical dyslexia), so he didn't spend more time than anyone else on any section. He just wasted some time on math.

Ontolome: When you send a score report, the university in question receives ALL of your previous scores.

it is like you separate the test into two part. But I am not sure if the colleges will think like this.
You'd better go ask the college itself or your counsellor for sure.
hopeful it is not gonna be too late

Olo you wrong me. I mean this time He spends most of his time studying CR and Writing. and last time he spends most of his time studying math. this obviously can reduce pressure and time issue on just one section.

okay. i think i'll not cancel it then. out of curiosity, do sat ii and ap scores show up on the same report too? i just hope i don't get red flagged or anything.....the breakdown is gonna look something like this
old: 780V 670M
new: ~800V ~500M ~800W
perhaps i can let this slide and make sure to take the nov SAT standby
