Concerning Math 1B as a pre-requisite

<p>Math 1B does contain some introductory differential equations stuff; the Math Department recommends self-studying that material if you skip Math 1B with AP credit and then take Math 54.</p>

Please note: Math 1B covers the introduction to ordinary differential equations (first order ODE, population dynamics, second order ODE, oscillation and damping, and series solutions of ODE). If you enroll in Math 54, you will need to cover the aforementioned topics on your own.
