Concerns

Im looking at GW, and feel some concerns that I would like to get answered. First is the price. Needless to say GW is expensive, I want to know if I, the student(prospective), get to see this money back in the form of quality education. I was also wondering about the financial aid available at GW.

Second is the setting. I would love to have a urban campus, but people have been telling me that it would be a trade-off for the closeness I would feel for the other students. Would I get a better experience from... something like American University rather than GW, or are my fears unfounded?

It honestly depends. I mean, both sides are understandable. I'm applying to GWU, not because of the campus, but because of the great International Affairs program, and the connections that school has. That said, I'm one of those people who bases their perspective school on how beautiful the campus looks. For example, I think that Brown, William and Mary, Georgetown, Boston College and the likes have BEAUTIFUL gothic/historical looks. The only problem is...I can never get into any of those schools lol.

That said, are you a very social person? I'm NOT very social, though it would be nice to make some close friends in a city. I mean, I'm not saying you CAN'T make any friends at GWU (I've never been there, so I wouldn't know), but you're right about it not feeling as "close."

Best thing to do; ASK around, and if you can, visit the campus.
