I was looking online but I couldn't find out a lot of info about it, but are there any semi-large concert venues near Yale? I have a House of Blues around 15 minutes away from where I live and I got there one a somewhat frequent basis (I do concert photography there) and it'd be great if there was something similar at New Haven as well. I'd imagine there are jazz cafes and whatnot but I'm looking more for venues that hold 2K - 4K. I'm not expecting, say, U2 or Coldplay to play at New Haven, but it'd be nice if acts like Ingrid Michaelson or Florence + The Machine or Matt&Kim to make stops near Yale. (:

I’m interested in this too - there are a ton of venues around where I live and I go to concerts pretty regularly. It’s definitely something I’d like to keep up in college if possible.

I don’t think Toad’s holds that many people, but a lot of pretty well-known artists have concerts there all the time. Matt & Kim stopped by earlier in the year if I remember correctly, and from randomly flipping through the schedule (I honestly don’t keep up much with Toad’s, haha) I saw Wu-Tang Clan and Jedi Mind Tricks (probably not your genre of music but they are big names so it’ll give you an idea).

Oh, and it’s literally on campus so no trouble getting there.
