Concurrent Enrollment with UC Extension

Hi friends!!

I am currently a CC student planning to transfer to a UC by Fall 2014. Right now I'm taking courses at my local CC during the Fall semester. Next semester, I am planning to take courses using the open campus program given by UC Davis's extension program as long as online courses from my local CC. It says on the UC site that a CCC student is defined as.. ".. last college the student attended in a regular session (fall/spring or fall/winter/spring) before admission to a UC campus is/was a California community college."

Since I am planning to take course using the UC Davis extension for both Winter and Spring quarters and am technically still taking courses at my local CC for the spring semester. Am I still considered a CCC student?! On the UC App, it will not let me select my local CC as my current college because the UC Davis Spring quarter ends (June) after the spring semester (May) of my local CCs. Does this mean I lose my priority as a CCC student?! Thank you so much!!

Be careful of unit limits that only apply if you have units from four year schools.

Hi Thanks for the response!

However, I didn’t really get an answer. Am I still considered a CCC student?!

Yeah you are. I took a extension course at UCI last spring. You are not a registered student at the UC’s ( haven’t been admitted) so you are still a CC student. When you list that you are taking that class in the spring on your UC app, make sure to put UC Davis extension ( it should be an option) on the list of schools you have attended.
