in the letter it says that the acceptance is conditional provided i maintain good grades. has anyone heard of or knows of anyones acceptance actually being retracted? i cant stand my english class and it would be nice to just pass it rather than worrying about an A. i know its a weird question but thanks for any thoughts.

Yep, I’ve heard of people having acceptances rescinded. But in those cases there were either discipline problems or they failed classes. I bet if you pass the class you’ll be fine, but of course the higher the grade the better. Good luck!

I don’t know what your current GPA is, but generally I’ve heard that you need to maintain at least a 3.0 to keep your acceptance. So, getting a C is not a good idea.

I think that all acceptance letters make a statement about maintaining grades. It is just a reminder that you can’t quit working.

Exactly. Basically, whatever the kind of grades you have now is the kind of grades (or better) that they expect you to graduate with. If you applied having a 3.25 (for instance) and graduate with a 2.75, they’re going to be a bit confused as to why you slacked off and what happened.

IMO, it has to be a bigger drop than that, Awesome. Ds and Fs are going to cause problems, but Bs and a C or two shouldn’t.

Depends on the school, I guess. I had a friend get in early to Columbia whose GPA could not drop below a 3.0 otherwise she would lose her acceptance.

My entire point is: Don’t slack because you got into college already. Admissions will notice and care.

Is it possible to get conditional acceptance into pharmacy /after/ already being accepted without it? (if that makes sense. . . XD)

Well, just because they didn’t say it doesn’t mean the acceptance isn’t conditional. Like I mentioned, if you start doing worse in your classes than the kind of grades you had when you applied and were accepted, the admissions committee will notice and care. Basically, just because you got into college doesn’t mean you can start to slack off in school.

If you want conditional acceptance, I would call and ask if you can get it. When we visited in mid-Nov, the pharmacy dept said that the number of slots was almost filled at that point. Good luck- hopefully they have a spot for you.
