Conditional and Unconditional Offers

So I have been really curious about the American system and what their offers mean. Here in the UK, when you apply to a university and get an offer from them, the offers are usually subject to condition (achieve specific grades) or unconditional which means you can attend the university no matter which grades you get. However in America, one can apply by Early Action or Regular Decision. Does this mean that if you get an offer from Early Action, you can attend the university regardless of the final grades you make whereas Regular Decision candidates have to meet some required grades?

For students currently in high school (or transfer students currently in college), college admission offers are conditional on completing the previously reported in-progress courses with sufficiently high grades and/or GPA. Transcripts from your current school after you complete your last term there (before attending the college) are used to verify.

This is the case for both early and regular admission.

Admission offers are typically subject to the student continuing the same level of academic performance. Acceptances can be rescinded. Normally colleges given seniors a bit of slack but a major drop off can cause a problem.
