Conditional Appointment Received!

We've been traveling in Europe the past ten days and returned to find my son's conditional appointment in our mail! The letter was dated Nov. 23 so the decisions are on their way to this year's applicants and we wish all of them the best of luck. We were surprised to receive a decision so quickly and our son has started the countdown to June 27. As parents, my wife and I couldn't be more pleased with his decision to attend the Academy and to pursue a career of service in the Coast Guard. He has truly received a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we're sure he'll make the most of it. We're immensely proud of all he has accomplished and can't wait to see how he learns and grows during his years at the Academy.

Again, to all those waiting we wish you the best of luck!

Congratulations! Upon satisfactorily “the condition” he will receive a “full” appointment.

The sooner he can deal with whatever issue is causing the appointment to be conditional (DOD MERB, etc.), the faster he’ll have a full appointment in hand.
