Hey!

So I was recently accepted to Newhouse, and I am extremely excited.

I am, however, curious as to whether or not there are any conditions I have to follow in order to maintain this acceptance. I live in Canada, and on my friend's acceptance letters from Canadian schools they usually say something like "as long as you maintain an average over ____%" or something along those lines.

My letter of admission to Syracuse said no such thing.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any conditions or guidelines I have to follow that are similar to what I said above?

Any help or guidance would be great. Thanks!! :)

Never heard of US schools having a requirement, though if you tank your classes this year they will revoke admission; just keep doing what you’ve been doing and you’ll be fine :)

My son’s friends have gotten acceptance letters that said acceptance is on the condition that the student maintains their grades, or something to that affect. Whether or not that means they will be asking for grades periodically throughout senior year, I don’t know. How would colleges know if you started slacking off if they’ve already accepted you and didn’t say you had to maintain your grades? My advice to you would be to simply keep up the good work you are doing and enjoy your last few months of high school.

Syracuse U (as most schools) require final senior year grades for accepted students.
A little “Senioritis” is normal, just don’t fail anything! Congratulations on your acceptance, my son is a freshman in Newhouse and loves SU!
