So I’m an international A-Level student, I’ve been accepted as a freshmen student at UCSD for the upcoming fall. I’m wondering whether the terms of admission cover my A-Level result.
The condition is to get a minimum of a C in all my A-G coursework, does that include my in progress A-Level exams? And if I score less than a C in my A-Levels will my decision be revoked?
You have posted in the UC Santa Cruz thread so are you asking about UCSC or UCSD? . Try here for UCSD: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-san-diego/
For UCSC, see if your questions are answered with this link: http://admissions.ucsc.edu/apply/conditions-faq.html
If not, then contact admissions.
Apologies Gumbymom, I meant UCSC not UCSD. Sadly the link you attached does not offer an answer to my questions and I’ve called admissions numerous times but to no avail, so at this point I’m not too sure what to do.
@fidelcastro: Did you also try emailing admissions? I am not familiar with A-level’s but according to the contract it states the following:
Earn a level of academic achievement in your fall and spring courses (as you listed on your UC application) consistent with your previous coursework. Earn a grade of C or higher in those courses (or equivalent for other grading systems).
So I am assuming “OR EQUIVALENT FOR OTHER GRADING SYSTEMS”, it would mean your in-progress A-levels for Fall and Spring of Senior year.
I thought so myself, but my senior year A-Level results don’t come out until late August, wouldn’t the be a bit too late to revoke any decisions?
I do not think there is any specific date cutoff when they can rescind your acceptance. I would still try to get a specific answer to your question from admissions.
A-Level results are tests and from what I know they don’t directly map to the US grading system. If you can’t find your answer on the UC or UCSC site, I would call the school admissions and ask them directly.
