Hey Guys:

I'm confused as to how this whole grading scale works for the GMAT. Here's what I mean.

I took the GMAT on Feb. 5th without really studying. My score report is as follows:
Scaled Score Percentile
Quantitative 34 38
Verbal 28 47
Total 520 40
*I got a 5 out of 6 on the AWA portion

My Quantitative skills obviously needed work. I've studied and taken two practice Quant. sections via 800score.com. The first one I got 25/37 correct. I was feeling good because it said that ranked me in the 68th percentile. I just took another practice for Quant. and got 22/37 correct, which discourages me because that's only in the 42nd percentile.

Does a 3 correct question difference really drop me 26%?

I know I can get over the 50th percentile for both sections, but it is just so discouraging that knowing 3 questions cost me so much of my score.
