Confirmation of Admission Notification?

I really don’t like how many people have been told different things! I’ve definitely gotten my hopes up for hearing back today or tomorrow, and I’m afraid that I won’t know until sometime next week which seems like an eternity away  Good luck to everyone though! I guess we’ll all hear back soon enough.

Admissions has said decisions will mailed out next week

so nothing online today?

Nothing so far

Hi GAMomma: My child’s stats very similar to yours and we are also OOS. Did your D apply to Honors? Did she get into Honors? Did you get Merit money? We have heard from almost all of the schools but are waiting for Delaware which is a top contender.

"@UDAdmissions: #Udel decisions have begun to mail & will continue on Monday. Check your portal for decisions beginning next week & good luck! #Admissions"

It’s official! Decisions are being mailed!!

In response to that tweet, they said that portals will update early next week.

Perhaps some applicants will get their packets in the mail today. Go US Mail (LOL).

I just received a packet in the mail today! I got accepted and I live in Maryland. Also no change in the portal for anyone who is wondering.

What is your major?

My portal says that my application is under review. Does that mean that They haven’t decided yet or does everyone’s say that?

My portal also says that my application is still under review

Do you mean in the “status” area it says “under review”, or the letter that pops up when you open the portal?

LauraB, do you mind sharing your stats and your elected major? Thanks and Congrats on the awesome acceptance!

springisintheair, yes in the status area

I received a 1780 on the SATs
Reading 600
Math 630
Writing 550
and I have a 4.0 UW gpa. I would say i have average ecs and I took 5 AP classes and a ton of honors

Also, I plan on majoring in Engineering (Civil).

I loved UD and so far Ive been accepted into UMD, Drexel, and RPI. I was waitlisted at Case Western. Its going to be a hard decision for me. Best of luck to everyone else!

Congrats, Laura. We also live in MD but received no mail today and portal reads “Still under review”. Waiting, waiting…

I don’t know if this is a portal change, under the list of materials submitted if I click on FAFSA it says [I’m paraphrasing] it has been determined you have need for financial aid which could involve merit aid, loans, etc, after you have been admitted you will receive details. That sounds like there will be an offer of admission?

It is hard to say if the FAFSA message means anything specific regarding your admission to UD but it certainly is not a bad sign. FAFSA sends its recommendations/eligibilities to every college an applicant has requested they send the FASFA results to. So unless there is something specific about UD in the message it may not mean anything more than the FAFSA findings/recommendations regarding financial aid you appear eligible for.

At least there is evidence (with an acceptance packet arrival in MD) that UD did begin to send out acceptance packages on Friday. I am a little surprised we did not see emails or portal changes this weekend but I suspect things will emerge in much greater intensity beginning tomorrow with many more packets being received and portal changes beginning as well. This initial process probably will be going on for several weeks at least. Good luck to everyone.

Here’s the actual message cut and pasted:

We have received your FAFSA and have determined that you are eligible to receive financial aid awards, which could include, merit and/or need-based scholarships and grants, loans and federal work study. Shortly after your admission offer, more detailed information, including the conditions for maintaining your awards, will be available on this site from the My Awards and Financing -> FAAN (Fin. Aid Award Notice) link.

Based on numbers S should get into UDel although maybe not the program he applied for.
