adcom = admissions committee

it's actually a reference to the entire admissions commitee, but people use it in the singular to refer to a single person. anyway, i doubt a secretary is a part of the commitee - sometimes they're even students ;p

yes, i called the next day and she remembered me... hmmm wonder whyyy? and everything was ok... happy me:)

Of course. I respectfully thank everyone who has given me props. :)

ADCOM: Admissions Committee. They are the all powerful, the Alpha and Omega, the Lords of Mount Olympus who with one flick of their wrist (hopefully not towards a trashcan) can seal your fate. ADCOMS review thousands of applications. When crafting your essays, remember that brevity is your friend, and, if you are lucky, a few ADCOMs are too.

and addressed the fax to "Kathy"

LMAO

Anyway yeah she asked me to fax a copy too.. the first time round she got my letter but not my scores so i had to send it again. I still dont know if they have my scores or not!

She's not a student, I can tell you that much. Do a search for her on the princeton site.

haha schwaby, the only word i can think of is "awe"

and "pink lipstick", but that's another story...

yae, i still have the FAX... "Kathy" is written with curly letters... hides face with shame OR hides face with hands

ah yes! those essays - considering that princeton asked for 4/5 (depending on whether you do the optional one or not) essays, do you feel it's crucial to be brief, even at the expense of sounding like "you had more to say"?

A concise, but thorough essay would be best

That's kinda like the "what's better, a A in a regular class or a B in an AP class?" question.

You know the answer.
:D

scwaby, i sincerely thank you for your last comment.

giani, i just couldnt do it. I went overboard and wrote four 600 word essays and a thousand word one.

But I used simple, flowing, active voice language so none of it seemed long.

dont worry mercurysquad, i did the same thing. sometimes you just have to say what you have to say without cuttin down the word count.

Hot damn man. Bit much no?

Pavalon, I have sent fax to 'Kathy' too... :)

I was absolutely sure it is ok :).

My! And I thought I was stepping on her toes when I wrote emails starting with "Kahtleen" instead of "Dear Mrs Varra" :D

Goodnight all. I expect props in the morning. :D

too cute! you had me smiling when i read this :) i'm sure they won't mind if it's as "flowy" as you describe - they do say about 250.... but was your summer one also 600 words?!!

Haha... I love the Kathy stuff too!!

question: where can you get a complete list of all the adcom for Princeton? including regions, positions/titles etc.? most other college sites have them, but i haven't found one for Pton yet...any clues?

Nah I just mentioned it year-wise. ;) Thats because over here summers are mostly spent doing homework and nothing else (its only for like 40 days). And technically, there was no summer vacation in 12th grade...wait..... now you see how I cant stop writing once I start! :D
