Is it true your major is not considered in the application process? So for example you applied to LA engineering but got rejected. Would they tell you to apply for a different major? or just reject you . (without looking at your 2nd major? <–someone mentioned this)

No, it’s not considered for certain majors, namely, the 100 or so ones in the college of letters and science, but for engineering, usually they won’t consider you for another major once you’ve been rejected.

FastMed said that engineering is easier to get into. Is that true for EE? or is it only for the other ones. If it’s not easier, i think i’m just going to apply for a physics major and send it in tonight. And hopefully being a physics major will be just as good as an engineering major. (i hope you guys can help me as soon as possible cause i want to turn it in by tonight) htanks

He doesn’t have anything to prove with that. If you’re not a strong candidate, don’t take that advice completely and stick with CL&S. Most of us are watching the parade right now so I don’t think this board is going to be uber active.

sliguy101 - While my college years are many years in the past (my D is currently an engineering major at UCLA), my undergraduate degree was in Math (Pomona) and I went on for a Masters in Civil Engineering (Stanford). I had to take an extra year to take some of the engineering undergrad classes but it was worth every moment.

If your parents will support you, choose the school you want as your first choice, then worry about what education you need to end up in a job you love.

the possibilty of say… czechoslovakian boheme in an “increasingingly globalized world” might be as beneficial in say, my dilettante-ism and pursuit of the socratian ideal… however, this is impudence+arrogance at its best… possibly, an egocentric mentality… i might as well live in a cave… or perhaps i already do. etc…
