I’m sending my ACT with writing to all my colleges so I’m not required to send the subject tests, but I was wondering if not doing so would disadvantage me? My scores are kinda mediocre for the top schools (720 Bio E, 740 Lit) and I don’t know if it would hurt me more to send them or not send them. Specifically, should I send for Brown, Vandy, Duke, and UChicago? Do people get into these schools without subject scores
Definitely send them in, they’re good scores and they’ll add another dimension to your application.
The one thing to keep in mind for Duke (I’m not familiar with Brown/UChicago so I don’t know if it applies to them too) is that if you send your SAT II scores, you also have to send any SAT I scores. I’m not sure if you have taken the SAT or not, but it’s something to keep in mind. I decided not to send my subject tests to Duke because my ACT was a lot better than my SAT and I didn’t really want them seeing all of my scores
Thanks guys! Any other opinions?
