CONFLICTED! Should I just pull my application from Georgetown?

I recently was rejected from UNC Chapel Hill and deferred from University of San Diego. Another school that I applied to (but have not interviewed with yet) is Georgetown University School of Nursing. Based upon my grades, SATs, etc, should I just pull my application from the school? Please take a look and give me your advice, I'm realllllly conflicted. Thanks!

you shouldnt cancel it because it would just be be a waste of money, mind as well wait, you never know...

Your SAT's are low for Georgetown, but your EC's are good. I think if you finished the application why not just send it in. The worst that can happen is getting rejected, but you already labored over it. It is definately a sizeable reach, but I'd just send it in.

the only thing I've got left is the interview (which I am really nervous about) and I don't know if it's worth it....is there any chance for the school?

Unless the interview is going to cost you money, there's no point withdrawing. There's always a chance. Your grades and extracurriculars are good.

Your chances aren't great, and this is a reach, as you know; however, there is no real point in withdrawing your application since you have already paid the fee. The only reason to do so would be if you simply cannot handle a rejection letter. I think you should keep it in: why not?

Georgetown mailed me the wrong phone number for my interviewer while I was visiting schools in North Carolina. The day after I got back (which was about a week after GU sent out the note) I called him. To my dismay, it was the wrong number and so I called the admissions office and they gave me his email address.

Two days ago, I came down with bronchitis and I'm about to email him.

Do you think he'll be angry that I haven't contacted him up to this point AND I probably won't be able to meet with him for another few days? Will he write me off?

Sorry if I'm over-reacting, I'm so high stress right now!

DD has one application pending to a school which is a huge reach for her. She was actually accepted to the other three schools she applied to...two before she even mailed this reach school application. She loves the school, wanted to give it a try, knows it's a HUGE reach, but hey...nothing ventured, nothing gained. And as she (and a friend) puts it...she isn't going to break if she doesn't get accepted. She worked mighty hard on that application despite the fact that the school is such a huge reach. If you have everything else done, go to the interview and enjoy it!! You never know what they are looking for.

well i feel much better about this, thank you everyone!

my only dilemma is over the late interview setup (which i wrote about in one of the above replies)

I'm applying to Georgetown!

I would never pull an application because you don't want to look back in April and think about what could have been. It will only give you something to regret if you pull it, so don't and then hope for the best.

Alrighty, I'll take your advice. I'm so pleased that everyone has unanimously agreed that I should apply :)

Joanna....everyone also agreed that my daughter should apply. NO ONE thinks she will get accepted, but they didn't tell HER that!! Like I said...you never know. And good luck with the other schools on your list.

thank you, and good luck to your daughter! :)

Don't worry about the interview - I just talked to my interviewer this weekend, so I haven't interviewed yet either. There's no rush.

good to know :) good luck with your interview!

yeah, the interviewers seem to take awhile... had I not called alot of people alot of times, I never would have got mine scheduled for GU. It turned out to be really relaxing too - my interviewer just wanted to answer some questions and share her experiences with me. Good luck.

thank god i'm not the only one then!
