I'm a senior and am applying to schools that include the Top Ivy Leagues. I'm just worried a bit on my standardized math scores.

My SAT I Math score was only a 740. But my SAT II Math II was an 800. My ACT Math was a 36. I've gotten a 5 on AP Calculus AB and a 6 on IB Math HL.

Will colleges just ignore that SAT I Math score? Because it's the outlier and I don't want it to hurt my chances or make colleges think my math scores are inconsistent, etc.

It really is not inconsistent at all. It’s well-known, for students at least, that Math I scores are typically lower than that of Math II. 740 is very good for this subject test.

They will see that you’re a talented math student from your other scores. But if you had the time, I don’t see why you wouldn’t retake for the 800.

I really didn’t think it was worth it to spend more money and another day to take the SAT when my ACT was good enough. Plus my AP, IB, and SAT II scores.

I think you’ll be fine. You’re a human, not a robot! You have some VERY impressive math scores, and i’m definitely jealous, especially of that AP (want to come tutor me?). No one’s perfect, and adcoms know this.

A 740 on the SAT 1 math just means you blew about 3 questions for some material that probably bored you to tears. Don’t worry about it. I knew/have known a pile of very advanced students who have imperfect SAT 1 math scores like yours and have done just fine in terms of admissions. Don’t waste a perfectly fine Saturday morning.

Rather than inconsistent, your SAT I Math score might (at the most) be considered anomalous. Given the strength of your other scores, adcoms are unlikely to give it a second thought.
