Confused about applying to schools like Wharton and majors..

Am I correct in saying that when you apply to Wharton, your application would be regarded separately from those who are just applying to the regular college at UPenn? And if you get rejected from Wharton, your application will still be considered for the undergrad program at Upenn?

Does that mean the major I declare would have to be non-business related to get into Upenn if I get rejected from Wharton?

Also, what about schools like Sloan (MIT) or Stanford engineering program. Would applying to such schools/programs also separate your from regular undergrad admissions? If no, does that mean to apply to sloan/stanford's engineering program you just need to indicate a business or engineering major? If you don't, can you still switch after applications are over?

Thanks!

You apply to Stanford only. I believe the same goes for MIT, but better double check. Wharton I don't know, but there must be information re this on the Penn admissions website. Look up FIQ's.
