Confused about CSU A-G courses.

I have a few questions about CSU’s “a-g” courses…

  1. Do the one year required classes taken have to be in a consecutive year?
  2. Do all the a-g courses have to be completed by the time of turning in the application? Or could I take some of them my senior year after I have applied?
  3. Does woodworking tech count as a “visual art” for the f courses?
  4. My school doesn’t offer 4 years of 3 trimester english classes. I have a full year of different language arts classes and have to more required classes. What could I do for the 4th year?
  1. Which one year courses are you referring to?
  2. You need to have 11 of the 15 a-g courses completed at the time of application so end of Junior year.
  3. If you attend a California HS, you can look up which HS courses meet the a-g requirements with this link:

https://hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist#/list/search/institution
Enter name of HS.

If not, then Woodworking Tech mostly likely does not meet the VPA requirement. My son’s CA HS does not list this course along with others that I have looked up.

  1. So you are saying that 4 years of any type of English is not offered? What is your English sequence? Can you take an English course at a local CC or on-line?

And I will probably end up taking a college english class, thanks for the suggestion!

I am referring to the visual and performing arts. I go by trimester and I have taken ceramics one and 2 and I am going to take 3, so I have one year completed total, but they are all different years, not consecutive.

And does the 11 of 15 apply to SDSU?
Thanks much.

As long as you follow the Ceramics course sequence for a year total (3 trimesters) you should be fine. The 11 out of 15 applies to all CSU’s and UC’s.
