Confused about ECs

Okay, so I'm going to be a junior in high school this September, and I'm starting to seriously research colleges and trying to get my act together to put together a good transcript.

But I'm confused about extracurriculars/volunteer work/awards. Do you have to prove in any way on your college application that you were actually in those clubs, or volunteered in whatever you did, or won whatever awards you won? And if you do, what is needed for it?

Thank you. :)

nope, i don't believe you do

The people who look over your application don’t have time to see if you were actually in clubs. But if they see something that is really extraordinary, then I am sure they will probably see if you actually did it. But saying you were an officer of some club doesnt really matter, because its not a big deal and will not really help you get into the school.
