Confused about FAFSA

I am on the section where I have to do the "School Selection" however there are only 10 spots for colleges, does this mean that I can ONLY get aid if I go to the schools I listed? Or what if I don't get accepted into any and the one that I do isn't on the list, thanks alot... VERY NEW TO THIS!

After you complete the FAFSA, and you receive the message that indicates that it has been completely received by the system, you can go back in to edit it. At that point you can put in a whole new list of schools if you need to, and then re-submit it. Repeat as necessary.

Just remember that if you need to up-date your FAFSA in order to correct your financial information, you will need to be sure to repeat this business about re-sending it to multiple batches of schools. The changes will only go to the schools currently listed in your form.

So only the schools that i list on the fafsa are the ones that ONLY if I get accepted into I’ll be considered for fafsa??

If you need financial aid, you need to make sure that your FAFSA results are sent to all of the places that you apply to. No one else will get your numbers.

is there anyway to send it to more than 10 schools? because it only lets me put 10 on the fafsa but I might apply to more then 10 schools, thakns again!

Are you applying now for the fall, or for second semester admissions? Don’t complete the FAFSA now if you won’t start college until fall 2012. The form that is available now is for the school year 2011-2012.

When you do file the FAFSA you cam include 10 colleges or universities. After you get the email from FAFSA indicating that everything is completed, you will go back to the form and edit it. At that time you will take out the first 10 colleges, and put in 10 more.

Yes I am starting my senior year and am applying for Fall 2012 semester, so when is the best time to finish the fafsa? Because I’m getting mixed responses from people (some say do it asap). Thanks :)

The FAFSA for the 2012-2013 school year will not be available until January 1st 2012. You should do it asap, after it is available in January. (The current FAFSA is for the 2011-2012 school year and is pointless for you to do if you are starting college in the fall of 2012 - it does not count at all for the 2012-2013 school year and will not count as having met any deadlines - it is the wrong one).

Oh I see now, I thought the one available counts for the term im applying for :P
