So the university of Chicago has this section on their website:

I am going to do the CollegeBoard CCS profile, and have done FAFSA do I have to submit the W2 forms and tax returns to UChicago too in that financial aid section or do CCS and FAFSA cover those?
Also, how would I send them the documents? Fax?
The instructions for applying for financial aid at the University of Chicago are listed on the school’s website. That’s your best source of information. If you still have questions, call or email the financial aid office.
Why are you choosing to do the Profile? It’s not required at Chicago. They use the FAFSA and their own form as requirements…but you can opt for the profile. The Chicago form is FREE…but you can opt to pay for and complete the Profile.
But why would you do that?
I’m mainly asking about the parents W2 and tax forms. How do I get those to them?
It looks like you mail these to the financial aid office.
The required list includes these items.
You can call U of Chicago and ask. Personally, I would not fax my tax returns, and w2 forms even if that is an option… Just my opinion.
Did you even look at the web page link that I provided in my earlier post? There are very specific instructions there on what you should do. Go to the web page. Read it. Your question will be answered.
For Chicago we opted to do the CSS profile (was already doing it for another school so just did them together). I think one of the other schools (University of Michigan) required that we send our tax forms too, so we just scanned them and uploaded them onto her account/profile at the school. I didn’t feel comfortable faxing them.
BelknapPoint, i did read the page you linked. Nowhere on it does it specify if I can send the css profile instead of sending the W2 and tax returns individually. Also yes thank you 3js3ks, I will just upload it as supplementary material and call the office and tell them I did.
Also, while I’m at this, when is the art portfolio for Early Decision II due?
You don’t send the Profile instead of sending the tax documents. The web site is very clear. Under the heading “Required Materials” it tells you there are three things that need to be sent. Further down under the heading “Sending Your Materials” it very clearly tells you how to send the requested stuff. This answers the question that you asked here twice.
If you exert a little bit of effort and spend a few minutes on the school’s website, you can get all the information that you need. This is surely a better way to get accurate information quickly, instead of posting here and then waiting for answers (if you get any at all) from people who may or may not know what they are talking about.
Believe it or not, this information is available on the school’s website.
I’m sorry, this is all I can find about portfolios https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/apply/application/supplemental
I don’t mean to be rude I’m just having a hard time navigating.
I’m sympathetic – a few years ago I remember struggling with the same question with UChicago about the tax forms. Call them if the website isn’t clear to you. You will need to send the tax documents into they list, but call if you aren’t clear on logistically how to send them.
Yeah I plan to submit it here http://prntscr.com/i0hei1, which also gives the option for tax returns, and I will call the office of admissions Tuesday just to make sure they got it. Now that art portfolio though…I’ve got no idea.
I mean, I know WHERE to submit it, that’s pretty obvious, just the due dates aren’t.
Use the search box at the bottom left of the web page you link to here. Use the search term “art portfolio.” Click on the first result returned.
