I have taken one spanish 101 course and I am going to take spanish 102 in the fall, along with a world literature course in spring. I was reading the prereq qualifications for English majors at UCLA, it says you need either level 5 of a foreign language, or a level 3 with 2 additional literature in translation courses (In my case world lit.) I have chosen the second route but my question is this. What exactly is level three foreign language at cc? Is this even required, I mean does my admittance count on this rule or not? What exactly does a level three translate to from a quarter school (ucla) to a semester school?

Also quick question, should I just major in American Lit and culture? Its 70% admit rate and it's within the english department itself. Could I declare American Lit as a major and then switch right away to Enlish, how hard could It be switching majors within the same department?
