OK up until now I thought the unweighted GPA scale went up to a 4.0 ... with a 4.0 being an A, a 3.0 being a B, etc. Then I went to princeton review and looked at some of the UCs like ..

UCLA ..
Average High School GPA: 4.13

UCSD ..
Average High School GPA: 3.98

I'm sure there are other examples, but these are the ones I saw. So how exactly do colleges recalculate GPAs? And if its one specific way (like for honors you multiply by say 1.5 or something) will that way of calculating be consistant throughout PrincetonReview (since I think all of this stuff is self reported)
